Re. Key values for Namadgi National Park Management Plan

Friends of Grasslands (FOG) is a community group dedicated to the conservation of natural temperate grassy ecosystems in south-eastern Australia. FOG advocates, educates and advises on matters to do with the conservation of native grassy ecosystems, and carries out surveys and other on-ground work. FOG is based in Canberra and its members include professional scientists, landowners, land managers and interested members of the public.

In line with our submission to the review of the plan in May, the majority of the values that FOG view as important, significant, unique and irreplaceable fall within the Biodiversity, Natural landforms and landscape, and First Nations connections to Country themes.

• Conservation of species diversity
• Opportunities for citizen science
• Discovery and management of native species previously unknown in Namadgi
• Adaptive management of invasive species

• Appropriate fire regimes
• Monitoring of ecological communities
