Re. DA 202341909 Block 5 Section 47, Franklin
Friends of Grasslands (FOG) is a community group dedicated to the conservation of natural temperate grassy ecosystems in south-eastern Australia. FOG advocates, educates and advises on matters to do with the conservation of native grassy ecosystems, and carries out surveys and other on-ground work. FOG is based in Canberra and its members include professional scientists, landowners, land managers and interested members of the public.
FOG undertakes substantial work at this site, through organising the Budjan Galindji Parkcare Group founded in 2020, working closely with the New Reserves Unit in ESPDD.
FOG has made a number of previous submissions on the landscape plan and many other matters related to this site.
FOG supports the proposed works in theory, provided that all conditions identified are undertaken. However, through the Parkcare Group that works at this site, FOG wishes to have further input into the details of works to prevent inadvertent damage to biodiversity matters.
To that end, FOG member Geoff Robertson has approached Anthony Davis (ESSDD) for a walk through of what is proposed and to provide any suggestions in that context.
Yours sincerely
